I already have a good grasp on the FODMAPS diet and was hoping this would be the definitive resource for reliable info. Instead, I have found this app so frustrating! I appreciate that Monash U has tried to create an app to help us, but I find it more confusing than helpful.
How can saltine crackers, made with wheat flour, be on the "ok" list? How about "oatmeal, gluten free, coarse" = green light, but "oatmeal, gluten free, fine" = yellow (both are from the same country, so presumably the same brand). How could the cut of the oatmeal make a difference? The carbohydrate content is the same, no matter the shape. It makes absolutely no sense. There are SO many conflicting ratings like this.
Brand names of products are listed only for certain countries (Australian ones) but not for products in other countries. Bread was one very clear example - they are testing specific brands, why not list them so we can know what to buy and what to avoid?
I prefer the smaller but more consistent info from the ODMP app (and its much less expensive). I thought the Monash app would provide more detailed and accurate info considering it comes from the testing source, but Im disappointed.
